By inhibiting the arachidonic acid cascade pathway, flunixin also produces an anti-endotoxic effect by suppressing eicosanoid formation and therefore preventing their involvement in endotoxin associated disease states. WebFlunixin is a potent nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, primarily used as an anti-inflammatory agent and analgesic for the short-term treatment of moderate pain and inflammation in farm animals. It is also effective in inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins.
